Hey book lovers. How is your week going? This is my first time doing the WWW Wednesday book meme. It is hosted by Sam @ Taking in a World of Words. Anyone can join in the fun, all you have to do is answer three questions:
What are you currently reading, what did you recently finish reading and what do you think you’ll read next?
WHAT DID I RECENTLY FINISH READING?

NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT BY KRISTAN HIGGINS.
So this is the first book by Kristan Higgins that I have ever read. It is about a woman, Nora who has an accident and decides to go back home and mend the broken bonds with her family and discover herself and face the things she did in the past. This book was so GOOD and when I was done with it, I was left with this warm feeling in my chest. Nora has been through so much and you just feel like rooting for her. The other characters were great also and it was nice to see Nora, her family and other inhabitants of the Island come together and help each other. I’m definitely going to check out other books written by Kristan Higgins now. Have you read any of her books and could you recommend some for me to read?
WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?

WHAT SUNNY SAW IN THE FLAMES BY NNEDI OKORAFOR
This book is also known as Akata Witch. Well its obvious that I’m a big Nnedi Okorafor fan, so it only made sense to read this book and now I regret not reading it sooner. It is set in Nigeria so it feels pretty real to me and I really relate to the main character Sunny, who loves reading books. So basically its about Sunny, an Albino discovering that she has magical powers and the adventures she goes on with her friends, Orlu and Chichi. I recommend you all try to read this, although for non-Nigerians a few of the words might be confusing as pidgin and Igbo are used in several parts of the book. But then again, it just adds to the fun and mysteriousness of the magical world in the books. The sequel, Sunny and the mysteries of Osisi comes out in Nigeria on the 26th of march but is already available in the US published as Akata Warrior.
WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?

Another Nnedi Okorafor book. Yay. This is the finale of the Binti trilogy and from the reviews I’ve read I cant wait to read it. In this book, Binti has to prevent a war, protect her people and come to terms with who she is and the power she possesses. Binti is such a strong female character but also vulnerable which just makes her seem more human. I recommend you read the whole trilogy, starting from Binti to Binti:Home and finally Binti: The Night Masquerade. You could probably finish the series in a day as they are all novellas so they are quite short. This trilogy is one of my best science fiction series. I mean how often do you get to read a book about an African girl going to an Intergalactic university, facing aliens, solving complex mathematical equations and coming in possession of ancient alien technology. Oops spoilers.
Chat time! What book are you currently reading and what book did you recently finish reading? What book are you excited to read this year? Are you into Sci-fi and fantasy books? How is your Wednesday going? Lets chat in the comments.
