Welcome to the Uwadis Blog!
A blog created out of a love for great books and good food.
I’m Etinosa, and this is my little corner of the Internet where I post book reviews & recommendations, literary musings and the occasional bookish recipe.
If you’re a book lover, you’re in the right place😊. I hope you’re able to find your next great read here.
Take a look around. Here are some of my most popular posts.
✨ Looking to discover new authors, here’s a book list of diverse anthologies to add to your TBR
✨ A little bit curious about what goes into a book cover design, I interviewed book cover designer, Thy Bui about it all.
✨ If you’re looking for more diverse books to read, check out my list of 17 books by Nigerian authors released/coming out this year. From fantasy to contemporary to non-fiction, it’s all in here.

ABOUT THE BLOGGER

Hi there. I’m Etinosa.
I created this blog back in 2017 when I was a University student and I didn’t have many friends in real life that I could talk about books with.
I was also really stressed out and I needed an outlet, so when I found out about the online book community I was like, sign me up!
I took a break from blogging sometime in 2020, because of school work and this dragged on due to graduating and figuring out life after university and job hunting.
After almost three years, I’m back and excited to talk about books again in my little corner of the internet.
You can find me on Twitter and Instagram, or send me a message through the contact page.
Another way to connect with me is to sign up for my newsletter. This gives me an excuse to drop into your email from time to time, to talk about all things books.

INSPIRATION BEHIND THE BLOG
Uwadis was born out of a love for great books and good food. Great books can serve as a portal to new worlds and experiences, a way to escape your current reality, process your emotions and learn new things about the world in general.
Food to me is more than something we eat for nutrition. Food brings people together, it can cheer you up or make you sad, you can create a lot of great memories centred around food. For example, one of my most vivid childhood memories is sitting down with my family on Saturdays, eating Akara (beans cake) fried with palm oil and pap (maize porridge).
I looked for a way to merge both books and food on my blog (I’m still working on it) and voila, Uwadis was born.
Life is full of ups and downs….so why don’t you sit back and relax as I entertain you with posts about great books and good food.
